Me Happy

Hey Guys. This morning I woke up a little bit before 6:00 to see what type of tickets I could get for an upcoming Third Day show. They are coming to Columbus, GA on March 8th. I am from Columbus originally and it is only a week before my 30th (gasps!) birthday. Tickets go on sale tomorrow to the public, but I am a member of Wired and can get advanced ticket priority. I ended up getting tickets on the 2nd row. You can see Mark’s (a member of the band) Facebook page by looking at my friends.

WinterJam Jammed!

Last night Jennifer and I went to WinterJam in Chattanooga. It was a really good show. Mandisa opened the night, and NewSong followed. After NewSong, Skillet took the stage. Skillet really put on a rocking show. Although, they did only five or so songs, they did a great job. My favorite song was “Savior” where they ended the set with it. Barlow Girl came next and they did a great job also. Although Jennifer and I had met them before, this was our first time seeing them in concert. I didn’t expect them to play so “hard.” The singles that have been released always seem to be a little softer. Another neat thing, yet totally complicated, was that the drummer also sang lead vocals on some songs. That must be hard. Once they finished, MercyMe took the stage. MercyMe did a really good job too. Reflecting back on the show, although I have been to many concerts in the past, I can never remember a time where two of the bands had female drummers (Skillet and BarlowGirl). Both were really great! I would give this show an A-. The venue is not the best place for concerts (a basketball arena) and it was soooo crowded and all tickets were general admission. At $10 a ticket though, you can’t beat it! I will be looking forward to seeing Skillet and BarlowGirl again in the future. You should check this show out if it comes to your area.

one week

What a difference one week can make, this time last week the high temp was 28. Today the high was 68 degrees. In just seven days, we have had a 40 degree shift. The weekend went pretty well. Jennifer and I hung out with Danny and Cassie. They are both really good friends. Also a big Congratulations goes out to them, they found out that they are having a little boy.

I am still really enjoying my iPhone. I am finding out new things every day. It makes it really easy to update twitter, facebook and the blog.

If you have a few free moments, I have been working on my companies website. Check it out at: http://www.safecrete.com and http://www.taylortradingco.com. I have been doing some updates to the site. I am currently working on a new SafeCrete page. It should be up soon.

Rock Band

Tonight Jennifer and I went with Cassie and Danny to her mothers house.  They had a little get together that was a lot of fun.  We played “Rock Band” on the X-Box 360.  I have never been a huge video game person (at least not since the NES) but this was a lot of fun.  I did the vocals on several songs.  The first song I sang was “I’m So Sick” by Flyleaf.  My score was a 77%.  Other songs I sang were:  “Don’t Fear The Reaper,” “Detroit Rock City,” “Kill Em’ All” and “Enter Sandman.”  My best score of the night was a 96%.

I have continued to enjoy the iPhone.  I am getting a lot of use out of the e-mail function.

iPhone

Well, I have had the iPhone for around nine hours now and I have been very impressed thus far.  It arrived via Fed-Ex around 5:00 this afternoon.  The first thing is activation and it went very smoothly.  Since I already had service with AT&T, this might have been the reason.  Anyways, I was up and running within a few minutes.  It has so many cool things.  In this limited amount of time that I have had, my favorite thing so far would be how easy it is to jump on the web, and also check your e-mail.  That will come in handy.  I also like how you can find and view YouTube videos with little work.

Nice work Apple, I give you an A+ so far.

Christmas Update

Hello Friends… I hope each of you had a very Merry Christmas.  It was a very good Christmas for Jennifer and I, but it went way too quickly.  We left Chickamauga on Friday and drove to Columbus.  We stayed in Columbus on Friday and Saturday night and then drove on to Slocomb on Sunday.  We stayed in Slocomb on Sunday and Monday night and then came on back to Chickamauga.  However, Tuesday night we stopped back in Columbus to see my family one more time.  Needless to say, I didn’t get much sleep on Tuesday night.  We got home about 1:30 AM.  It was great seeing the family as always.  We got some pretty cool stuff as well.  Perhaps the best gift that I received was from my beautiful wife who got me an Apple iPhone.  It was ordered from the web and is scheduled to arrive sometime on Friday via Fed-Ex.

Wednesday night our church was not having services, so we decided to hit Wal-Mart with Danny and Cassie.  BAD mistake (No, not who we went with, but when we went where we went, huh?)  We picked a bad time to go.  I had heard all day about the stores not being crazy and such but we just went at a bad time.  We ended up waiting for 44 minutes in line.  Out of all the cash registers not converted for refunds, less then half were opened (8 out of 20).  Wouldn’t it make sense to have most registers opened on the day after Christmas??

Be sure to check out my new Facebook page and add me as a friend.  My profile is at:  http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=565476455

As I sit here and check the shipping update on the iPhone, I see it has arrived in Nashville, Tennesse from Lewisberry, Pennsylvania.  Lewisberry a town with a population of 385.

me = normal, other people = crazy

I came across this article today posted on ABC News.

 http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=3973925&page=1

That is some kind of crazy.  Some teenager in Iceland calls the White House in order to speak to the President.  He even pretends that he is the President of Iceland.  He seems to get away with it as well.  He gets all the way to the President’s Secretary.  Too bad they didn’t post the direct number, just the number for the main switchboard to the West Wing.

More updates coming soon…

2008 Auburn Football Schedule

For those interested…

Aug. 30 Louisiana Monroe
Sept. 6 at West Virginia
Sept. 13 at Mississippi State
Sept. 20 LSU
Sept. 27 Tennessee
Oct. 4 at Vanderbilt
Oct. 11 Arkansas
Oct. 18 Southern Miss
Oct. 25 Open
Nov. 1 at Ole Miss
Nov. 8 UT-Martin
Nov. 15 Georgia
Nov. 22 Open
Nov. 29 at Alabama

Three teams from Tennessee and three teams from Mississippi… wow, that is over half the schedule.  I do like the two open dates though.  They seem to come at good times.  They start fairly easy then have West Virginia and then jump right into SEC play.  Should be interesting.

a random piece of trivia

A little piece of random trivia: did you know that the word “Crowder” in Noah Webster’s original 1828 Dictionary means, “a fiddler; one who plays for a crowd”

Really cool…
